Medway Does Americana: Videos

Thanks again to everyone who came to the Barge last week to help us raise money to keep The Medway Broadside online and afloat for another year. As well as playing, Rew shot some hand-held footage of all the performers, and you can now see a song from each of them below. It was quite an evening. You can probably tell that :0)

Medway Does Americana: Line-Up

We’re pleased to announce this splendid line-up for our forthcoming Americana evening at the Barge on Saturday 14th July.  The event will be a fundraiser for the Medway Broadside, an independent news and culture paper for the Medway Towns whose print and online editions are produced through the efforts of a skilled and dedicated team of local volunteers working together to produce an eloquent and representative voice for the community. The Broadside covers local news, politics, arts, culture and sport, providing an incisive take on events in Medway, whilst celebrating and promoting local creativity. We’ll be raising money to keep it online for another year and fund this Autumn’s print run.

An Interview With Fizzer Rippon

On Monday 11th october, we sent Phil Dillon to Radio Sunlight to be interviewed by Fizzer Rippon on his radio show. They talked aboutMedway Eyes, ME2 (the second birthday gig and album). A big thank you to Fizzer and his team for having Phil on the show and for sorting out the audio for us.

You can now hear the whole thing, including songs by the three acts playing at the birthday shindig this very evening, Stuart Turner & The Flat Earth Society, The Flowing and Fires Took Over. Enjoy it, and we’ll see you in a few hours.

Pop over to our Facebook profile to stream the interview, or download it if you prefer.

Sight Unseen Exhibition

Following the success of the Tidal Flow exhibition of 2009, Medway Eyes returns to the Riverside Country Park in Gillingham in June with a new photographic exhibition that accentuates the unseen and provides a fresh take on the familiar.

Sight Unseen runs for three weeks and opens with a family friendly day of two halves; the exhibition opening and a picnic at the Riverside Country Park followed by live music at the Barge until teatime.

We hope to see you there.
